Writing a review of anything is most difficult. As I think of the task, I am filled with joy – good theatre does that to me, makes me want to share the joy and passion with others. Even though I have spent my adult life as a professional director and dramaturg, developing new work, I have also taught in Universities across the country and professional classes in NYC. That influence, part of who I am as an artist cannot be ignored in anything I write. With that in mind, I will try to briefly encapsulate my experience at the theatre in Northeast PA and NYC.

My reviews will consider the function of theatre in each classification - educational, community, non-equity professional and fully professional productions. Each has a unique function and will be looked at in it's specific classification. As Tennessee Williams said so frequently, en avant!
